Green supply chain network design with emphasis on inventory decisions

چکیده

Excessive greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector have led companies to move towards a sustainable supply chain network design. In this study we present new bi-objective non-linear formulation where multiple inventory components are integrated into location and routing decisions throughout network. To efficiently solve proposed model, implement an exact method four evolutionary algorithms for small large-scale instances. Extensive computational results sensitivity analysis performed validate efficiency of approaches, both quantitatively qualitatively. Besides, run statistical investigate whether there is any statistically significant difference between solution methods.

Closed loop supply chain network design with fuzzy tactical decisions

One of the most strategic and the most significant decisions in supply chain management is reconfiguration of the structure and design of the supply chain network. In this paper, a closed loop supply chain network design model is presented to select the best tactical and strategic decision levels simultaneously considering the appropriate transportation mode in activated links. The strategic de...

Optimizing location, routing and inventory decisions in an integrated supply chain network under uncertainty

This study extends a mathematical model that integrates the location, allocation, inventory replenishment and routing decisions simultaneously. To cope with inherent uncertainty of parameters, we implement a continuous-time Markov process and derive the performance measures of the system. Using the obtained results, the problem is formulated as a mixed integer nonlinear programing model (MINLP)...

Inventory Decisions in Dell's Supply Chain

The Tauber Manufacturing Institute (TMI) is a partnership between the engineering and business schools at the University of Michigan. In the summer of 1999, a TMI team spent 14 weeks at Dell Inc. in Austin, Texas, and developed an inventory model to identify inventory drivers and quantify target levels for inventory in the final stage of Dell’s supply chain, the revolvers or supplier logistics ...

Incorporating location, inventory and price decisions into a supply chain distribution network design problem

The goal of this paper is to study a profit-maximization location-inventory problem in a multicommodity supply chain distribution network with price-sensitive demands. The problem determines location, allocation, price and order-size decisions in order to maximize the total profit of serving the customers. The problem is formulated as a mixed-integer nonlinear programming model and solved using...
